Some people fear that movie theaters will be a permanent victim of the COVID-19 pandemic. I don’t really think they’ll disappear, but with big screen TVs it’s become more and more desirable to just stay home.

Lyrics:
Before the days of COVID
And fifty inch TVs
We used to go
To see a show
With friends and families.
I used to get there early
To get a better view
The seats reclined
They weren’t assigned
For screening a debut
Farewell to movie theaters
So long the silver screen
Goodbye to lines for tickets
And prices most obscene
Hello to my recliner
Wide screen, high def TV
When I go to the movies
Home is where I want to be.
Farewell to multi-plexes
They’re bound to disappear
Where jerks intone
On their cell phone
So everyone can hear.
Where popcorn, drinks, and candy
Cost more than a new car
Where gum and goo
Stick on your shoe
And melted candy bar.
Farewell to movie theaters
So long the silver screen
Goodbye to lines for tickets
And prices most obscene
Hello to my recliner
Wide screen, high def TV
When I go to the movies
Home is where I want to be.
Why sit with all those people
When you can be at home
No huge hair-do
That blocks your view
No drinks in styrofoam
And if you need the bathroom
You simply pause the show
And get a snack
When you bring back
A glass of fine Merlot.
Farewell to movie theaters
So long the silver screen
Goodbye to lines for tickets
And prices most obscene
Hello to my recliner
Wide screen, high def TV
When I go to the movies
Home is where I want to be.
Farewell to movie theaters
So long the silver screen
Goodbye to lines for tickets
And prices most obscene
Hello to my recliner
Wide screen, high def TV
When I go to the movies
Home’s where I want to be.
When I go to the movies
Home is where I want to be.
