“Rocky Top” was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant in 1967 and recorded by the Osborne Brothers later that year. Jay Ward’s Rocky The Flying Squirrel first appeared on television in 1959. They were never meant to go together, or, for that matter, to have a harp part. Now they do.
