Fingal's Cave

Description

I went on a boat ride to see Fingal's Cave on the Isle of Staffa in the Hebrides on a trip to Scotland. Vertical shafts of rock frame the entrance to the cave, which is named for the hero of an 18th century epic poem, 'Fingal, an Ancient Epic Poem in Six Books'. The water was so choppy the boat almost didn't go, and a lot of people, well... they were unable to enjoy the scenery as comfortably as they had hoped. But I found the cave hauntingly beautiful, which is how I think of this melody.
