Here in the Beautiful Finger Lakes Region flooding is not uncommon.  And this is what I found when I walked out to the street to retrieve my trash can this morning.

Suddenly this song started playing in my head as the water seeped over my shoes and soaked my feet. It is a British folk song from Cecil Sharp’s 1906 collection.
