Paul Henning wrote the song and Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt famously performed it for the TV show, “The Beverly Hillbillies”. It occurs to me that it’s lucky Granny Clampett didn’t find her way into this video, or the possum would have ended up in her famous stew.
